Grand Prairie (6/10/03) Fan Review (Mark)

My favorite part was...Seeing Joe Walsh perform

My least favorite part was.... When many fans got up to go to the restroom during Joe Walsh, it was rude.

The band members were.....energetic, and very giving of themselves

The show made me feel.....like I had come a very long way in my life!

One thing I'll never forget is....seeing only a handful of people flicking their lighters, and remembering the 70's concerts when everyone had a lighter, and were using it for other reasons!

Other comments

They sounded wonderful, and played for almost 3 hours.  One giant 40 something crowd.

Grand Prairie (6/10/03) Fan Review (Spence)

I saw the concert at NextStage last night.  My wife and I were 15th row just off center.  This was my 4th Eagles concert and it was great as usual!  I can't wait to see them next Thursday at the AAC.

My favorite part of the concert was probably Wasted Time.  I always end up saying that after every show I see but it's still true.  The way they do it is extremely touching.  Don's voice has not faded hardly at all.  Only in the middle of Sunset Grill where he sings "Don't worry girl, I'm gonna stick by you.....etc" did he cheat a little and All She Wants To Do Is Dance was tuned down a half a step.  Who cares.....he's voice is brilliant and timeless.  Also, seeing his wife and kids on the side stage during Take It Easy was cool.  Glenn's version of Take It To The Limit was outstanding.  He sings with a lot of passion.

My least favorite part was You Belong To The City.  I love that song and the sax is great along with Joe's solo, but Glenn simply can't sing that song like he used to.  He has lost a little of his range.  Don't get me wrong, his harmonies and most of his vocals are still wonderful and when he sings he looks so intense....that always fires me up.

The band members seemed to really be a cohesive group.  I was impressed with "the show" and how they danced around and jumped up and down.  They truly seemed to enjoy themselves.  I miss Don Felder though.  Stuart Smith is very talented and is a great replacement, but I miss Don Felder.....especially during the solo on I Can't Tell You Why, and him not starting off Hotel California will always be odd.

The show made me feel like I was at home.  The Eagles always take me to a good place.  Between the harmonies, lyrics, and everything in between, it's just always great to see them.  I would alter the set list though starting today if I had my way.  They sang 10 solo songs between Don, Joe, and Glenn.  Believe me, the solo songs are obviously great, but let's take out some of those and add some more Eagles tunes.  After The Thrill Is Gone, Ol'55, Sad Cafe, Doolin Dalton, Saturday Night, The Last Resort, Outlaw Man (not sure about the high notes at the end), You Never Cry Like A Lover, Good Day In Hell......the list goes on and on.

One thing I'll never forget is much effort they put into their performance.  With The Eagles it's all about passion, that's why they are my favorite band and always will be.  I would give another $189 just to hear them do The Last Resort.  I've been to countless Henley shows and 4 Eagles show and I've still never heard it in person.

I've been listening to The Eagles since I was in diapers.  I'm 30 now, and it still seems like I gain something new everything I listen to an Eagles song.  I know beggars can't be choosers, but I would LOVE to hear mostly Eagles tunes.  The only solos I would fight to keep for sure would be Life's Been Good (basically an Eagles song anyway), Boys of Summer, and either Funk 49 or Walk Away.

Grand Prairie (6/10/03) Fan Review (Donna)

My favorite part was... Two actually, one was Don Henley belting out "Wasted Time" and the second was EVERY time Joe Walsh did a solo.  That guy was ON last night.

My least favorite part was.... The new song was okay, but really the only weak point in the show.  And I really wouldn't even call it weak, just not as amazing as the rest of the show.

The band members were..... Terrific.  Gave us a 3 hour show and it was worth every minute of it.

The show made me feel.....  Great - took me back to high school when my sister and I practically wore out out the LPs and 8-track of them.

One thing I'll never forget is.....Joe Walsh's red shirt and white-blonde hair.  He really stood out - both visually (bless his heart) and muscially.

Other comments  .......  This was probably the best concert I've seen in years.  I've seen Don Henley and Joe Walsh when they went solo after the breakup.  They were very good, but the magic is definitely back when they are together.  All the vocals were terrific and the guitars were amazing.  Loved the show.  Wish I could make the one at American Airlines Center, but I think we got a real treat seeing them in a more intimate setting at NextStage.  Made a wonderful memory last night - I'll never forget it!
