I didn't realize that Joe Walsh was touring with the Eagles. Has he been back very long with the rest of the guys. He's always been one of my favorite performers. These guys are awesome, and I cannot wait for this show. ...Kathie.

Awesome Show! What else can I say other than what a great opportunity it was to have the tour start here in Grand Rapids Michigan. If your a Joe Walsh fan, this is a concert you definately cannot miss. The fact the band played 3 encore's tells the story. The Eagles were great!

"Hello Grand Rapids, were the Eagles from Los Angeles", announces the voice from the stage and so began Farewell 1 tour circa 2004. As I saw it, it was Glen Frey and the Eagles performing from not quite sold out Van Andel Arena. The guys have taken the gloves off this time, from my vantage point in section 228 high above the floor this show blew away the first time they performed here in 2002. Put away the venom from earlier today, the guys rocked the house, I don't have the set list as I'll leave that to the young ones to write. I'll say this give these guys some time off and they'll tweak this and change that to add character and sound to vintage hits. Take the bus, rent the RV, fly, drive or talk Aunt Sara into a road trip you must see this show. Glen was outstanding, he literally stole the show but for an average Joe, no wait did he say "They write me letters tell me I'm overweight". Did I say that Glen was as hot as the arena, do these guys need a sauna to sound their best because that's what it was like for the first half of the show. Smuggler's Blues was a diamond tonight, as were Heartache Tonight. Timothy was poignant when he stated he has been to several concerts of late with his son and he realizes the hassles of everything and on a weeknight to boot and he thanked everyone for coming. Later Don said we had a pretty nice town, not to big not to small, judging by his third appearance here in 4 years you tend to believe his sincerity, now about that Meet and Greet for $$$. Lets just say that for 3 hours those who made the journey heard what these guys do best and that is enjoy each others company and rock.

What a night, the Boys rocked Van Andel and seemed to really be enjoying themselves! They were dressed more casual than the last two times I've seen them. Timothy and Glenn both wore jeans, though Glenn wore a sports jacket all night, and sweated his butt off. Joe wore his pants with all the pockets and Don had on pair that were similar.

Joe commented that he was gonna run for President again 'cause he knew more than the guys who were running. He said he would be honest and then said that all the money was gone.

It took a long time for the crowd on the floor to get to their feet and stay there (it's really hard to dance when you're sitting down.) But once Joe started into his songs, the problem was solved! But I was bummed that we didn't get to hear Turn To Stone, like last Fall.

I compared my set list notes to RJ's prior post and I totally agree with the order and number of songs.

Don's vocals never cease to amaze! Glenn's vocals where awesome too. They turned up his mike on You Belong To The City and it sounded much better this time around. Timothy was so gracious to his fans, he kept making his way to the end of the stage to accept roses from the ladies. And Joe just totally rocks the crowd. These guys just keep getting better and better!

It was an awesome night, good friends, great music, what more can you ask for!

A memorable evening of beautiful music by some of rock music's classiest performers. From beginning to end, The Eagles amazed, entertained and inspired a very, very appreciative Grand Rapids crowd. What a great night! Thanks, guys!

OK Here's the scoop-The show started about 8:15 with Glenn saying, "Hello Grand Rapids, We're the Eagles, and they started right into Take it Easy. The stage set-up was similar. The video screens behind the stage were uniform vertical rectangles. There were no screens above the stage like before. There were however two hanging screens to the right and left of the stage, which is standard for Van Andel Arena. As far as wardrobe, Don was wearing a tan plaid button down and khakis. Timothy was in his normal tight jeans with a blue shirt and a black vest. Glenn came out on stage wearing jeans and a sport coat with a hideous red and white shirt underneath. Joe was wearing camouflage cargo pants and a dark color long sleeve t-shirt. After the break Timothy changed into a t-shirt, Glenn got rid of the red and white shirt and just wore a dark colored t-shirt under the coat. Joe and Don did not change.I am not going to analyze each individual song because they were all great!!! But here are some highlights:-There was a photo slide show of the band on the R and L side screens during the Wasted Time Reprise-Prior to In the City Joe announced that he is running for president again, because “none of the other guys know what they are doing, and if he were president we they would play this (In the City) before each ball game.-The first four songs following the break were played on stools-nice touch, looked like the old Eagles.-Prior to Love will Keep Us Alive the crowd got a sincere thank you from Timothy for coming out and battling crowds and such.-Don complimented the city of Grand Rapids, he said “nice city you’ve got here, not too big, not too small, and CLEAN!!-When introducing Hole in the World, Don said “I am not going to say much about this one, but the hole is getting bigger.-Glenn introduced Take it to the Limit as being written with and for Randy Meisner and called it the credit card song.-Helmet Cam during Life’s Been Goodand , Lyric var.” the fans write me letters, tell him me I’m overweight” –got a huge response from the crowd.-Glenn was dancing around again during All She wants to do is dance-Hilarious !!!-During Long Run-Don put his head on Joes shoulder when he sang “..couldn’t hold a candle to you”

Overall the show was great as usual. I had the cheap tickets this time, but could still, see pretty good. Van Andel is a good place to see a concert. Tim was loving the crowd, never stopped moving around the whole time, really looked like he was having a blast. Glenn looked like he was having fun too. Don moved a little and didn’t show a whole lot of emotion, but he never does, and Joe-well he’s Joe-stole the show during his songs. I would have like to hear another or different Glenn Frey song, possibly Smuggler’s Blues or The Heat is On. Each time I see the Eagles (this being my 5th) I wonder if that will be the last. I sure hope not, but I know with the Eagles nothing is guaranteed. Let’s hope the get that CD done too. Anyways, I am rambled on long enough. I hope this helps.

This was my first Eagles concert. It was awesome. My son took me as a Mother's day gift. Glenn seemed to be enjoying himself the most with Timothy next. They left out of couple of songs I would have wanted to hear but I hope they continue and I can see them again.
